What can I do for Spring Break in Indiana?

Indiana Spring Break Ideas

Flying out to Mexico or California can be a bit pricey when you’re a college student on a budget or if you still need to work for part of the break.  Now, you’re probably asking: “what can I do for Spring Break in Indiana?”  But, worry not, there are still some fun things to do nearby that won’t break the bank.

Indiana Dunes

Now it will probably still be too chilly to actually swim in Lake Michigan, but there are still ways to have fun without getting wet.  There are plenty of great restaurants and a great nightlife that many people enjoy.  Plus, the Indiana Dunes State Park has many hiking and biking trails that can take you through the dunes, forests, prairies and marshes.

Cataract Falls

Just an hour southwest from Indianapolis, this state park has the largest waterfall in the state of Indiana.  And many people actually recommend visiting the park between December and May.  Though, whether it’s frozen or flowing freely, the waterfall is simply gorgeous.

Obviously, we don’t want you to drink and drive, however, going on a short road trip with friends to your favorite local breweries can be extremely fun.  Plus, when you spend the night in the various towns, you can experience all of what Indiana has to offer.  Here are a couple of good mentions: Sun King Brewing Company, French Lick Winery, Three Floyds Brewing Co., Tin Man Brewing Co. And Daredevil Brewing Company.

Hotels and Casinos

You can always stay a couple of days in a nice hotel and visit a casino—though we recommend not spending all of your money at the slots.  Places like these usually have some sort of entertainment going on, spa and wellness centers to relax in and great restaurants to eat at.  They’re also usually near other fun places to visit or try.  Here are a couple of suggestions: Hoosier Park, Horseshoe Hammond, Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino and French Lick Casino.
