Free 2017 St. Patrick’s Day Events Indianapolis, IN
Whether you want to celebrate with a corned beef and cabbage feast or small accent of green clothing, St. Patrick’s Day is a fun-filled holiday, but also a sure sign that spring has arrived (or it’s at least very close). Fortunately, there are plenty of great ways to celebrate in Indianapolis, whether you’re looking for a parade, a great meal, a drink, or just a place to spend some quality time with friends and family.
Greening of the Canal
When: Thursday, March 16; 5-6 p.m.
Where: Downtown Indy Canal Walk
If you’re not completely new to the city, you probably are aware of the Greening of the Canal. Put on by Hoosier Lottery, this year’s event will feature a live performance by Eunan McIntyre, alongside dancing and celebrity appearances.
St. Patrick’s Day Children’s Scavenger Hunt
When: Friday, March 17; 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: Indianapolis City Market
Looking for some family fun this St. Paddy’s Day? What’s better than a scavenger hunt, face painting, green beads, and fun St. Patrick’s Day art stations. Bring the family out for an afternoon of wholesome fun!
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: Friday, March 17; 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: Downtown Parade Route
This will be the 37th year that local bands, schools, and other organizations march through the streets of downtown Indianapolis to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. There is also parade festival from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. where you’ll find food, a beer garden and other St. Paddy’s Day activities.
Indianapolis Downtown Irish Fest
