2017 Father’s Day events in Indianapolis IN
Father’s Day is right around the corner. The day of honoring fathers always falls on the third Sunday in June in the United States, which means that for 2017 the day will land on June 18. Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational
If your dad didn’t get enough racing with the Indy 500, or if he prefers racecars of a more classic vintage, then you should take him out to the Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational. The event runs June 16 through June 18 with races occurring on both Saturday and Sunday. You can buy tickets for individual days or for just $55 you can buy a ticket for the whole three day weekend.
Marion County Fair
Take your dad out to the 87th Marion County Fair, and enjoy the rides, see the animals, and enjoy the amazing fair food. The fair opens the Friday before Father’s Day and runs through June 25. Tickets are a very affordable $5 and kids under 5 get in free. Don’t miss Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel, Jason Wells the classic rock musician, or the ATV races all of which can be seen on Father’s Day.
Indy Burger Week
Indy Burger Week is happening again in 2017, and this year it extends all the way until Father’s Day. During Indy Burger Week, you can go to any one of the numerous participating burger restaurants spread all across Indianapolis. Tell them you’re there for burger week, and you will get that restaurant’s special burger week burger for just $5!
Talbot Street Art Fair
On June 17 and 18, you can take your dad to the huge art fair that will be hosted on Talbot Street between 16th & 20th / Delaware & Pennsylvania in the historic Herron Morton neighborhood. There will be over 270 artists there, and they will come from all across the nation. For this event, the admission is always free!
