Getting the oil changed in your vehicle is one of your major responsibilities as a vehicle owner. Without replacing the oil at the proper intervals, you can run into major issues with your engine that won’t be cheap to repair. Rather than putting yourself in a bad situation, it’s much easier to schedule a service appointment and let us take care of your car. Plus, when you bring your vehicle to Indy Honda, you’ll also get a complimentary vehicle inspection at the hands of a certified Honda technician who can potentially identify underlying issues before they become larger problems.
2016 Honda Civic Oil Change Intervals
No matter which Honda vehicle you own, the owner’s manual is your best friend when it comes to determining regular service intervals. If it’s been awhile since you’ve purchased a vehicle, you might be surprised to learn that the old standard of 3,000-mile oil changes is pretty out of date.
For the 2016 Honda Civic, it is recommended that you get your oil changed every 7,500 miles or 12 months (whichever comes first based on your driving habits). Although you should always keep track of your mileage at the time of your last oil change, newer Honda models like the 2016 Honda Civic feature Maintenance Minder, which will track your mileage and provide alerts when it comes time for an oil change.
Of course, that 7,500-mile suggestion is based on normal driving habits. If you live in a very hot climate, do a lot of city driving or idling, or are frequently driving on dirt roads, you may want to get your oil changed a little more frequently.
When it comes to oil changes or any other Honda service or maintenance tasks, our team of Honda certified techs are here to answer the call.
