Looking at the engine lineup, you can see how the 2018 Accord differs from the 2017 Accord. The standard engine for the Sport trim is the 1.5-liter turbo engine which offers 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes standard across the entire Accord trim lineup for 2018.

Transmission options for the Accord Sport trim

It’s the transmission options that make this trim even more interesting. As this is the first trim that has options for both the 1.5-liter turbo and the 2.0-liter turbo, you can get it with both of the engines’ respective transmissions. The 1.5-liter can be equipped with a CVT, and the 2.0-liter turbo can be equipped with a 10-speed automatic.

There is another transmission option at the Sport level though, namely a 6-speed manual. That’s right, the Sport trim has a manual option, and you can get it with either the 1.5-liter turbo or the 2.0-liter turbo.

This is the only trim where the 6-speed manual transmission is available, and it’s not just any manual but a short throw manual. With this short throw, you can speedily shift through the gears. Experience a great connection with your Accord, through the manual shifting options of the Sport trim.
