It’s the time of the year where everything is haunted and people love to get scared.  You can get in the Halloween mood by watching these 5 scary car movies that are sure to make you leave the light on at night. 

For years now, horror movies have featured some pretty evil vehicles, and sometimes it’s the vehicle that is the real villain!  Hollywood just loves to make people scared from things that they least expect.  And no one expects their car to be the bad guy.  Here are 5 horror films that feature the car as the villain:

Christine (1983) 

Rated R 

This creepy movie, based on a Stephen King novel, features an unpopular boy named Arnie who buys a beat-up car, names it Christine and fixes it up.  Though this car changes him completely and will run down anyone who gets in its way as it tries to steal the soul of Arnie. 

The Car (1977) 

Rated PG 

Out on the roads is a black car that rampages and claims victims from the town of Santa Thea, terrifying the citizens.  Cops are now out to catch this supernatural and evil car before it strikes again. 

Maximum Overdrive (1986) 

Rated R 

Yet another thriller by Stephen King, this movie features villainous vehicles coming to life!  A group of people now have to work together in order to survive the gang of evil vehicles that are out to get them.

Jeepers Creepers (2001)

Just trying to get through their road trip, two siblings encounter a small town that is terrorized by a lunatic and his terrifying truck.  Now “The Creeper” is after them and the “The Creeper Truck” plays a horrifying song to let them know it’s coming. 

Joy Ride (2001) 

Rated R 

A psychopath and his big rig truck are out for revenge against two prankster brothers and their friend on a road trip.  Now these three are fighting for their lives trying to escape this psycho and the long-haul semi chasing them. 

Each of these movies are absolutely horrifying and are specifically rated for viewing and are not intended for certain audiences, viewer discretion is advised and small children should not watch them.  Leave a comment below on which film freaked you out the most!
