Drumstick Dash 2017
For the past 15 years, the Drumstick Dash has been a large event around the Thanksgiving holiday in Indianapolis, IN. This event is to help the homeless men, women and children in Indianapolis. Here are the event details for the Drumstick Dash 2017.
The Wheeler Mission Ministries is an organization that helps the homeless in Indiana by providing critically needed goods and services. The Drumstick Dash is their Thanksgiving run/walk event that raises money to provide meals to the homeless in the Indianapolis community. There is also a food and clothing drive that will be located at the Glendale Town Center and Park Tudor School, where there will be free shuttle buses to take you to the race.
The Drumstick Dash Expo will take place on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, where you are able to wander to various vendor booths and pick up your race packet. To pick up your packet, you just need to look up your bib number; and to keep track of how many participants there are, this year the bib will include a ChronoTrack timing chip—so be sure to wear your bib during the race! You are also able to pick your packet up on Thursday before the race begins. And there will also be a pre-race party on Thursday as well as the Post-Race Party Area.
For children under 12, there will be the Lil’ Gobbler’s Run where they can chase around the turkey mascot. And if you wear a costume, you are able to receive a prize at the K-LOVE Prize Tent, though there is no costume contest. There is also a scavenger hunt where if you find one of the special turkey hats during the race, you get to keep it!
