Looking for a Honda Odyssey for sale in Indianapolis? We’re excited to show local families all that this tremendous minivan has to offer! When you’re tackling busy days of errands, school drop-offs, after-school activities, and family fun, you need a van that can keep up, and the Odyssey is that model.
We always recommend the Odyssey to families looking for some extra help managing the chaos. Honda designed every inch of this minivan with “are we there yet” tantrums, field trips, and naptimes in mind.
Today, we’re covering 12 features that make the 2026 Odyssey the perfect vehicle to help you tackle family life from behind the wheel.
#1 – Magic Slide Second-Row Seats
Between loading up science projects and snack coolers, and transporting children who are growing faster than beanstalks, your cargo and passenger needs are always changing. That’s where the Magic Slide second-row seats come in.
These seats can slide forward to give third-row passengers easy access to their seats (or extra legroom for tall riders). They’re also good for bringing the second-row passengers closer to the driver and front-seat rider. That way, the front-seat passenger can reach back and assist second-row riders when necessary. If you have a young child who still requires plenty of attention on the road, simply put them in the second row and slide the seat forward.
You can also fold these seats flat and remove them entirely! When you don’t need a second row of seats but you do need room for a grocery trip that got out of hand, you can easily create the space you need.
#2 – CabinWatch Rear-Seat Camera
Need extra help keeping an eye on your kiddos? No matter how calm the streets of Indianapolis might be, the inside of your minivan can be a zoo sometimes, right? Luckily, with CabinWatch, you get an extra camera monitoring the rear rows. You’ll see live footage from this camera on your touchscreen, allowing you to monitor your kids without straining your neck.
#3 – CabinTalk In-Vehicle PA System
See something suspicious back there? You can use CabinTalk to address it. CabinTalk gives you a microphone up front that projects your voice through the rear-row speakers. You can easily tell your child to get back to their homework assignment and stop bothering their sibling.
#4 – Remote Engine Start
When those winter mornings arrive in Indianapolis, it can be hard to convince your kids to get in a freezing-cold car. With the Odyssey, you don’t have to, because it has a remote engine start.
With remote engine start, you can turn your vehicle on from your key fob. That means you can turn on the heat while you’re still in your kitchen, cleaning up breakfast dishes or packing up lunches. On hot summer days, you can activate the AC before you load up your Odyssey. At least the cabin climate will be one less thing the kids complain about now.

#5 – Built-In Sunshades
In-car naps are a blessing for parents. When your kids snooze, you get a few moments of peace and quiet for yourself. Any feature that encourages these naps is a blessing. In come the sunshades.
You can find sunshades in the second and third rows of the 2026 Odyssey. When kids decide they’re ready to doze off but the sun is too bright, they can simply use the sunshades. These also come in handy for reducing glare on device screens during in-car homework or movie sessions.
#6 – Hands-Free Power Tailgate
You’ve taught your kids to help you out more, but sometimes they still forget to assist when you’re struggling with the trunk and arms full of groceries. Luckily, the Odyssey has a hands-free power tailgate. Simply swipe your foot beneath the bumper with your key fob on your person, and the trunk will open automatically.
The trunk also has a height-adjustable liftgate. You can set it low to avoid scratching the roof of a carport or garage. Or you can set it higher to avoid bumping your head when loading up the trunk.
#7 – Bag Hooks
When you’re loading up your trunk with the bags from that big grocery run, you can use the bag hooks. You’ll find these on the backs of the third-row seats. They make it easy to ensure bags stand upright. Nobody likes opening the trunk to find oranges and yogurts rolling all over the floor!
#8 – Rear Cargo Bins
The storage solutions continue with the rear cargo bins. They fit perfectly in the well behind the rear seats and allow you to neatly organize and secure a variety of items. When you want to keep valuables concealed or you’ve simply run out of space above the trunk floor, you can find more room here.
When you don’t need the bins and want to fold the third-row seats flush with the floor, just take the bins out. Now you’ll have the perfect space for the stowable seats.
#9 – Advanced Rear Entertainment System
Have a big road trip outside of Indianapolis planned for the weekend? Kids might love the destination, but they don’t always tolerate the journey. So keep them occupied with the rear entertainment system.
This 12.8-inch high-resolution screen turns the rear seats into a movie theater. You can even stream shows from major platforms like Netflix and Hulu directly to the screen via HDMI or wirelessly from your device. Your kids can keep watching their favorite show or movie while you drive (in peace).
You can also stream music through the screen. If you want to put a kid in control of the playlist for the ride, you can.
#10 – Multi-Zone Audio System
Want to enjoy your podcast while you drive, but don’t want to disturb your children while they nap or do homework? Just take advantage of the multi-zone audio system. It lets you decide which rows can hear your media. Turn it off for the rear rows and keep enjoying your audiobook up front.
Perhaps your backseat riders want to listen to music, but you’re tired of hearing the same songs over and over again. Just play your audio media across the rear rows, and you won’t be bothered by your passengers’ music.

#11 – Rear Seat Reminder
On particularly hectic days, it’s easy to forget something in the back seat of your vehicle—like a laptop bag or a baby in a car seat. It happens to the best parents sometimes, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s terrifying when it does.
The 2026 Odyssey has a rear seat reminder to prevent those panicked moments from happening again. Your Odyssey detects when you open one of the rear doors at the start of your drive. That tells the vehicle that you put something (or someone) in the back seats. Once you park, the van will provide a visual alert to check the rear seats before you exit.
#12 – All-Season Floor Mats
As many times as you’ve asked your kids to wipe their shoes off before getting in the car, they still forget. When they’re fresh off a rainy day on the soccer field, your cabin can get pretty messy.
Good news: the available all-season floor mats can keep the inside of your Odyssey looking clean and new. When these mats become caked in mud and dirt, simply remove them and hose them down.
